Honorary Professorship for Hans Niemantsverdriet at University of Cape Town

Cape Town, January 16, 2018 . The Council of the University of Cape Town (UCT) has appointed Hans Niemantsverdriet as Honorary Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, for a period of five years in effect from January 1 2018 to December 31, 2022.

The University has a tradition of conferring honorary titles on members of the community who hold special ties with one of its Departments. In this sense, Hans has been actively involved in the Center of Excellence on catalysis, c*change, as International Board Member of its Steering Committee, for more than 7 years. He has frequently presented short courses or contributed to Summer Schools at UCT. Since a few years, Syngaschem BV sponsors collaborative projects with the groups of Profs Michael Claeys and Nico Fischer.

Hans is excited about and grateful for his new status at UCT, and hopes that the collaboration will intensify even further.
